Overview:

Alan Roams is my personal travel and lifestyle brand, centered around long-term, slow, and purposeful travel. The brand spans YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and a travel blog, offering authentic experiences, practical tips, personal stories, and insights on remote work. It’s designed to inspire travelers and digital nomads to make travel enriching, affordable, and productivity-friendly.


Project Goals:

The objective was to establish a cohesive digital presence where all platforms synergize to showcase my adventures, insights, and lifestyle. YouTube is the main driver, with TikTok and Instagram amplifying reach, and the blog providing in-depth guides and personal narratives.

In an era dominated by AI-generated content, there is a growing demand for raw, authentic experiences. This project focuses on delivering genuine, human-centered storytelling that reflects real travel experiences, remote work insights, and personal reflections β€” creating a seamless ecosystem for slow travel, location-independent productivity, and meaningful engagement.


Outcomes:

  • YouTube Channel: Main hub for storytelling, travel adventures, remote work insights, and personal reflections.

  • TikTok & Instagram: Short-form content and daily updates to reach a broader audience.

  • Blog: Detailed travel guides, practical tips, and reflections to complement the video content.


Channel Performance Highlights:

  • Launched March 2024; 16 long-form videos to date.

  • One video garnered nearly 98,000 views, with several others performing well above average.

  • Average view duration: 3:09, indicating strong retention for long-form storytelling.

  • Created a dedicated Shorts channel to expand reach through bite-sized content while keeping the main channel optimized for long-form engagement.
